NSEDA, the Newberry Springs Economic Development Association, is a 501(C)3 public benefit non-profit corporation. It was founded in the Spring of 2016 to help build the Newberry Springs economy.
Newberry Springs is a small (around 2000 pop.) community in the Mojave Desert. The long drought and heat have affected population and income. In order to live here, most residents rely on their wells for water and get their incomes from other places. NSEDA is trying to reverse the trend and encourage desert agriculture, home businesses, tourism, and community involvement so more business stays here instead of profits going elsewhere.
